Crutonia is a land of natural wonders, societies, adventure, and danger. Our books present stories from this world, are tales for readers of all ages, and are the collaborative work of Robert Christie and Deborah Lang. Robert Christie is an illustrator, painter, and craftsman, as well as a costume painter for Broadway and the television and motion picture industry. He lives in Jersey City but spent his formative years on Long Island. Deborah Lang is a cartoonist, scientific illustrator, and molecular biologist currently living in Boston. She was born in New York City but eventually moved to Long Island purely to meet up with Rob Christie to create Crutonia.
The work of Crutonia involves long-form graphic novels, short-form comics, illustrated books, short stories for anthologies, and fine art paintings, prints, and sculpture. These works include the Quirk’s Quest graphic novels published through First Second Books. The illustrated novel “A Brief Guide to Crutonia: General Guide”, the illustrated short story “The Brief History of Crutonia”, as well as the comics “Where ya going, Ark Ark?”, “Crutonia Shorts I”, “Crutonia Shorts II”, and “Tales from Crutonia” were published through Crutonia Press.
